Task Assistant (referred to in this policy as “the App”) is a productivity app for reminders, lists, an in-app calendar view, notification-backed alarms, and optional voice assistance. This policy explains what data the App uses, where it is processed, and how you can delete your app data.
Task Assistant is developed and operated by Niche IT LLC.
Task Assistant does not require you to create an account or sign in. Instead, the app creates a pseudonymous installation ID on your device. That ID lets the backend keep your reminders, lists, list items, legacy calendar-event records, quick reminders, and related app data separate from other installs.
The app stores cloud app data on Railway-hosted infrastructure. Voice features use OpenAI only when you activate voice. Task Assistant is ad-supported and may show ads through Unity LevelPlay and the ironSource advertising network.
On first launch, Task Assistant creates and stores a pseudonymous installation ID and secret on your device. The app sends this ID to the backend so your cloud records are kept separate from other users’ records.
This ID is not your name, email address, phone number, or login account. If you delete the app or clear app data, the local ID may be lost. The app may then start as a new empty install.
Task Assistant stores the data you create in the app, including:
This cloud app data is stored in a Railway-hosted PostgreSQL database and is associated with your pseudonymous installation ID.
Voice processing happens only when you activate the voice feature. The app does not record in the background for voice commands.
Before recording, the App requests microphone permission. Audio is recorded and submitted only when you deliberately activate the voice control. When you use voice, the App may send your audio recording, transcript, command context, and related request details to the Task Assistant backend. The backend may send audio and transcripts to OpenAI to provide transcription and interpret the app command you requested.
Task Assistant limits AI processing to supported productivity commands, such as creating or managing reminders, lists, list items, and alarms. It is not a general-purpose AI chat service. Audio and transcripts are not used by Niche IT LLC for advertising or model training.
OpenAI processes and retains audio and transcript data according to its own Privacy Policy and API data usage policies. By default, OpenAI does not use API-submitted data to train its models and retains it for a limited period for abuse monitoring. You should review OpenAI’s policies directly for the most current information.
Do not speak sensitive information into the app unless you are comfortable with it being processed by the backend and OpenAI for the voice request.
Task Assistant may show ads through Unity LevelPlay and the ironSource advertising network. Depending on your region, device settings, and Unity’s services, Unity and participating advertising partners may process data such as advertising or device identifiers, IP address, app and ad interactions, diagnostics, fraud-prevention signals, ad performance, and measurement data. An IP address may be used to estimate a device’s general or approximate location. Task Assistant does not request Android’s precise or approximate location permissions.
The current app configures LevelPlay for limited, non-personalized advertising and sends a do-not-sell-or-share signal before initializing ads. Task Assistant does not enable personalized ads through this integration. If personalized ads or a consent management platform are added later, the app and this policy will be updated before that processing begins.
When privacy-safe crash reporting is enabled, Task Assistant may send technical crash and error information to Sentry. The app removes error messages, request content, user identifiers, authentication data, breadcrumbs, and private app content before delivery. Sentry may process limited app, device, operating system, release, and redacted stack-location information needed to diagnose app reliability. Screenshots and session replay are disabled.
If you explicitly enable Anonymous Usage Analytics in Settings, Task Assistant may send broad feature-use events to PostHog, such as an app open, the tab used, or whether a voice stage succeeded or failed. These events do not include your authentication install ID, reminders, lists, calendar details, alarm content, audio, or voice transcripts. PostHog person profiles, session replay, automatic screen/touch capture, and GeoIP enrichment are disabled. You can turn this optional analytics collection off from Settings at any time.
If you use Report Issue or Copy Diagnostics, the app may include non-secret diagnostic information such as app version, runtime version, update ID, platform, operating system version, device model, backend URL origin, backend version status, and current date/time.
Diagnostics should not include API keys, auth tokens, OpenAI keys, or your private reminder/list/calendar content unless you type that content into the report yourself.
Task Assistant may request the following device permissions:
You can change permissions in your device settings.
Task Assistant uses data to:
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we process personal data on the following legal bases under the GDPR and applicable UK and Swiss data protection law:
Task Assistant uses these service providers:
Each third-party service processes data under its own terms and privacy practices.
Task Assistant does not sell your user-created reminders, lists, dated reminder details, or voice content. Data may be disclosed to service providers as needed to run the app, process voice commands, provide ads, maintain security, comply with law, or respond to support requests you submit. Advertising partners such as Unity and ironSource may process identifiers, ad interactions, diagnostics, and related data for advertising and measurement as described in this policy and controlled by the app’s limited-ad configuration and your device settings.
Active cloud records are retained while your pseudonymous installation ID is in use. When you use Delete My App Data, active cloud records associated with that install are deleted immediately or within 30 days. Backup, log, and operational copies are deleted or aged out within 90 days when feasible, unless longer retention is required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or service operations.
Device-local data may remain on your device until the app clears it, you clear app storage, or you uninstall the app.
You can delete your app data from inside Task Assistant:
This deletes cloud data for the current pseudonymous installation ID, clears the local identity and cache, and starts the app as a new empty install.
If you cannot access the app, you may also request deletion by visiting:
Task Assistant Data Deletion Request
or by emailing contact@nicheitsolutions.com with your pseudonymous installation ID (available in Settings > Copy My Install ID) so the request can be matched to the correct records.
Deletion does not remove data already processed by third-party services where those providers retain data under their own policies, such as historical ad data processed by Unity or its advertising partners.
Task Assistant uses a per-install secret to authorize access to your cloud app data. The backend verifies that secret before returning or changing protected records. No method of transmission or storage is perfect, but the app is designed to avoid exposing one install’s records to another install.
Task Assistant is intended for general productivity use and is not directed to children under 13. Do not use the app if you are under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at contact@nicheitsolutions.com.
Task Assistant and its service providers may process data in the United States and other countries where their infrastructure or service providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your location. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for international transfers of personal data from the EEA or UK.
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data. The in-app Delete My App Data control and the web deletion request described above are the primary ways to delete cloud app data for the current install. For all other requests, contact us at contact@nicheitsolutions.com and include your pseudonymous installation ID when possible.
